Kendrick & SZA Make History with “Luther” & Break Touring Records
Kendrick Lamar and SZA are rewriting the record books—and making it sound smooth while doing it. Their soul-stirring duet “Luther” has now officially tied a chart record that’s been standing strong since the ’90s.
This week, the collab topped the Billboard Hot 100 for its 11th consecutive week, putting it shoulder-to-shoulder with Diddy and Faith Evans’ iconic 1997 tribute “I’ll Be Missing You.” The two songs now share the record for the longest No. 1 run by a male-female duet where both artists are solo leads.
Not only is “Luther” a massive hit—it’s now the longest-running No. 1 single in the careers of both Kendrick and SZA. And despite dropping last November, it’s still getting heavy airplay across the country, even though streaming numbers are starting to ease up.
But that’s not the only crown Kendrick’s picked up recently.
Grand National Tour Making History Already
Just last month, the Grand National Tour with SZA kicked off in Minneapolis—and shattered records right out of the gate. The tour’s opening night grossed more than $9.1 million, with over 47,000 fans in attendance and an average ticket price north of $190.
That makes it the highest-grossing rap concert in history, topping Eminem’s 2019 show in Melbourne. It’s also the first time a Hip Hop show has ever broken the $9 million mark.
Clearly, Kendrick and SZA aren’t just performing—they’re making history in real time.
