After a draw was called in their fight over the weekend, Gervonta Davis says he’s pushing for a rematch with Lamont Roach Jr.

Boxing fans around the world are debating whether Roach should have been declared the winner, after Tank took a knee, claiming that hair product got in his eye. Post-match, the two boxers went back and forth on X after Tank tweeted saying, “And say no more. I’m pushing for the rematch.”

Roach responded feistily saying, “F**k you mean n**ga my contract already signed and set for the immediate rematch cuz you put that in there just in case you lost. Only reason we don’t fight is cuz u scared.”

Davis also went a step further saying, “The rematch can be soon too… like [the] end of May.”

Davis and Roach fought at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on March 2, and in the ninth round, Davis took a knee after being jabbed, which is typically considered as a knockdown in the boxing world. However, referee Steve Willis did not count it as such.

The fight resumed with no penalty and Davis retained his title, although many people feel Roach was robbed of the win. Two judges scored the fight 114-114, and one judge scored it 115-113 in Davis’ favor.

But this wasn’t the two fighters’ first time fighting. Davis and Roach have a history dating back to their amateur days and first fought in 2011 in Alabama. Davis won by decision.
