In a slew of back-and-forth lawsuits, the legal saga continues between Jay Z and Tony Buzbee, the attorney who’s been filing hundreds of lawsuits again Hip Hop mogul, Diddy.

In a new lawsuit filed by one of Tony Buzbee’s former clients, Jose Maldonado, Jay Z and Roc Nation are accused of “engaging shadowy operatives to illegally seek out” previous clients of Buzbee to “bring frivolous cases” against the attorney. According to court documents, these clients are being offered as much as $10,000 to file lawsuits against Buzbee’s firm.

The series of cases between Jay-Z, Buzbee, and their respective law firms initially started when another former client of Buzbee accused HOV and Diddy of raping her at an afterparty for the Video Music Awards in 2000. Since then, Jay Z filed an extortion lawsuit against Buzbee, who then in turn filed two separate additional lawsuits against Jay Z’s legal representation, Quinn Emanuel.

Roc Nation spoke out about the legal war saying, “Buzbee will have to answer for his failure to vet his Jane Doe plaintiff, while submitting her demonstrably false story to a court where he hasn’t even been admitted to practice, and subjecting the world to an NBC News interview disaster. The lies on the court will not survive scrutiny.” The label went on to say, “Rather than focus on suits by former clients for allegations of misconduct, Tony Buzbee is trying to distract with nonsense lawsuits – which of course Roc Nation has nothing to do with.”

Last week, a judge granted Jay-Z’s request to move forward with filing a dismissal motion for the Jane Doe lawsuit.
