After accepting a plea deal in his RICO YSL trial, Young Thug was sentenced to 15 years of probation and banned from stepping foot in Atlanta for the first 10 years. The rapper now wants that changed.

Arrested in May of 2022, Young Thug spent more than 900 days in jail before pleading guilty to gang, drug and gun charges. The judge presiding over the case ruled that if the rap star does not complete his probation, he will have to serve 20 years in prison with five years commuted for time served. The judge also ruled that Young Thug is prohibited from being in the Atlanta metropolitan area for any reason other than weddings, funerals, graduations and medical emergencies. He will also be subjected to random drug tests and property searches.

However, with the holidays coming up, Young Thug wants some of the terms of his probation reconsidered, specifically visitation to Atlanta. He is now asking the court to grant him permission to spend time with family, friends and business associates in the city, noting that he owns a home and would like to attend holiday events and gatherings. According to reports, his probation officer has no objections to the changes. A judge has yet to rule on the motion.

Young Thug was released from jail in October of this year.
