Rapper Lil Durk is now facing two additional charges related to a federal murder-for-hire case that has escalated in recent weeks. The new charges, which were filed in early November 2024, stem from an ongoing investigation into an alleged plot to kill rival rapper Quando Rondo.

In a superseding federal indictment, Lil Durk, whose real name is Durk Banks, is accused of conspiracy and using interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in a death. The new charges also include one count of using, carrying, and discharging firearms and a machine gun and possession of such firearms in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death.

Banks team has vowed to fight the charges, arguing that there is insufficient evidence to prove his involvement in any murder conspiracy. However, the rapper’s legal woes appear far from over as he navigates both the criminal and public relations fallout from the case.

Banks was arrested in October in Florida along with five of his co-defendants, who were arrested in California at the same time. None of the defendants have submitted pleas as of yet, but if Banks is convicted, he could face ten to 20 years or more in a federal prison. However, plea deals, cooperation with the authorities, or mitigation factors could potentially reduce his sentence.

Banks is currently being held without bail in Miami and will soon be transferred to Los Angeles for arraignment.
