Nicki Minaj Announces New Album, Pink Friday 3
It looks like the self-proclaimed Queen of Rap has had a change of heart and will no longer be releasing a deluxe version of her last album, Pink Friday 2. Instead, Nicki Minaj announced this week that she’ll be dropping an entire new album, Pink Friday 3.
The change comes after Pink Friday 2: Gag City Reloaded failed to hit streaming platforms on September 13 as scheduled. Fans were left wondering when the new project would be available until the following Sunday when Nicki Minaj revealed she was scrapping the entire thing for a new album.
According to reports, the “Anaconda” rapper felt as though adding five to seven songs to Pink Friday 2 would be “a little sloppy,” especially considering that Pink Friday 2 is her first album since becoming a mother and very special to her for many reasons. She made a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that she’ll “announce the new [release] date within the next couple [of] weeks. The new music is just too good to be thrown away on a deluxe album.”
Nicki Minaj went on to promise fans that she’ll still be performing a few of the new songs that are expected to be on Pink Friday 3 while on tour.
