On February 17th, 2013, Michael Jordan will be turning the big 5-0. Regarded as the greatest NBA player of all time and the man that singled-handedly changed the sneaker game. We would like to celebrate MJ’s birthday with 10 great moments in his career.

Space Jam

In “Space Jam” MJ teams up Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and the rest of the Looney Tunes  gang to take on the Monstar crew. The Monstar crew stole the basketball powers from NBA players Patrick Ewing and Larry Johnson.

The Shot

The shot that started the legacy, with a team filled NBA prospects like James Worth and Sam Perkins. MJ was the guy that hit the go ahead shot to give North Carolina the lead to win a NCAA title against future NBA hall of famer Patrick Ewing.

2 Handed Block At 40

Even at the tender age of 40, MJ showed he still had the turbos to get up.

Jordan Dunks On Patrick

The play every Knick fAN  will never forget, I’m sure Knick fans will reply with John Starks dunked on MJ (not really )but his Airness took on 3/5 of the Knicks and ended it with a baseline dunk on Patrick Ewing. Ewing may still have nightmares about this dunk.

The Foul Line Dunk

The NBA Slam Dunk contest is not what it use to be, with recent contests not having the big NBA names  like it did in the early days.  MJ and Dominique put on a show for the ages back in the 80′s.  MJ had some memorable dunks in the contest but everyone remembered the “Foul Line Dunk”.

The 63 Point Game

The 1986 Boston Celtics are considered one of the greatest defensive teams of all time, but that didn’t seem to matter to MJ as he dropped 63 points on Larry Bird and co in the playoffs. A scoring  record which still stands today.

Jordan Switch Hand Lay Up

MJ may been known for his dunks though out his career but one of his more famous moves was the switch hand lay up he performed in the NBA Finals in 1991 against the Lakers.

The Shot 2

This is probably the shot that propelled MJ into greatness, sure he had games with greater stats but this showed he was a clutch player. This might have been the greatest defense Craig Ehlo ever played and it was still not good enough to stop MJ.

The Flu Game

While most of us lay in bed and cry about how much were sick, MJ goes out and wins NBA Finals games. Playing 44 mins of 48 min game and dropping 38 points. Giving the Bulls a 3-2 series lead with a 90-88 win, cementing his greatness and legend, and today this game was dubbed  “The Flu Game“

The Shot 3

MJ started his legacy at North Carolina with the shot that won a NCAA  title, he ended his Hall of Fame career with a game winning shot (before he came out of retirement again). Some will say MJ pushed off on Russell and even if he did he hit the shot, if he missed the shot wouldn’t we be talking about the push off.
